Fun Summer Camp Programs

Friday, January 6, 2012 ·

One of my favorite Disney movies is " Parent Trap."  Isn't it amusing to find your long lost twin sister in a summer camp?  Isn't it a great coincidence that both of your parents sent you to the same camp not knowing that the other daughter is in there too? The universe conspired all the events so that the two of you can meet each other after ten years. :)

As a child, I often wish that I could go on a summer camp too.  But I never asked my mom to enroll me in one because even at that young age I know that there were a lot of important bills my parents have to pay for and clearly there's no extra money for summer Camp.  And I knew also that if we had the money back then my mom would have allowed me to go on one because she knew I love learning new things from the Summer Camp Programs and meeting new friends.

If  I was able to go in a summer camp, I would definitely try the programs on swimming, nature, arts and crafts and even music lessons.  I love the idea of sleeping in a big log cabin with other girls  for weeks and waking up so close to nature.

When the time comes when I have kids of my own and of course if they liked to be in a summer camp and I have the resources, I would definitely give them permission to go on one. I would love to send them to summer camps abroad just like the one in the movie "Parent Trap."  I believe that summer camp will teach them independence, responsibility, and creativity. It will boost their self-esteem and they will be able to meet kids from other places. And it's nice also that they they develop a new skill or improved on a certain sport they liked while on Summer break. I know that the experience they had at the summer camp will stay with them forever.
