Trying Out Different Tea Flavors

It was only recently that I discovered that I enjoy drinking tea.  I only gave this beverage a try when I read an article on Chamomile tea's ability to soothe and calm an upset stomach.  You see, late last year I was suffering from stomach ache and hyperacidity almost on a daily basis.  In my effort to find relief for stomach, I’ve learned that chamomile tea can bring cure to my troubled tummy.  A cup of Chamomile tea in the morning solved my stomach issues. It’s my preferred drink for breakfast.

While I was going on grocery shopping and loading on my Chamomile tea supply, I saw a box of dandelion tea.  The Dandelion tea inside the cute little box with a red sticker that says "detoxifies" caught my attention, so I bought it instead of my usual Chamomile tea.

I must admit that my first sip of my Dandelion tea is not really love at first sip; it tasted like grass.  But as the day goes on, I find myself enjoying this type of herbal tea. I guess my taste buds got accustomed to it. I gave myself a pat on the back for trying this tea.

Okay, since I enjoyed the Dandelion tea as much as the Chamomile, I said to myself that once I finished my box of dandelion tea, I’ll give the Jasmine Green Tea a chance since the Green Tea is known to increase metabolism.

I must admit that I’m finding it hard to drink the Jasmine Green Tea because not only does it taste bitter but the smell is something I cannot take.  I did not know that the Jasmine Green Tea emits a strong smell of Jasmine.

But even if I failed with the Jasmine Green Tea, there are still a lot of tea flavors I’m willing to try like the Oolong, Peppermint, Lemon, Sage and others.  Oh well, it will take a lot of time before I go back to my favorite Chamomile for now.

Here are some of the benefits of drinking herbal tea.

  1. It improves the immune system.
  2. Studies show that it also makes the bone strong because of its phytochemicals.
  3. The fluoride and tannin in tea is good for the teeth.
  4. It reduces your risk for heart attack and stroke.
  5. The antioxidants in tea help fight cancer, and it protect your body from the effects of pollution and aging.
