Valentine's Day Gift Idea

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 · 0 comments

We are already half way through the first month of the year and in a few weeks time it is February, and before we know it we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day.

As early as now, I am thinking of what to give my boyfriend.  Every time there’s a special occasion, my gifts for him are limited to shirts, shorts, caps, and slippers.  I am running out of gift ideas!

Then it occurred to me that giving him a Valentine's Day glasses would be the perfect gift.  I could give him a new pair of prescription glasses from Zenni Optical.  Giving eye glasses as gift is really practical since he’ll be using it a lot. There are a lot of stylish frames available at their website and what could be better than having these quality glasses at affordable prices starting at $6.95 prescription eyeglasses.

This glasses is what I want to give him.

Ordering online is very easy too.  Since I know the eyeglasses prescription of my boyfriend, I can just send that information and other details like which frame I liked through their website and after that have it delivered.

So if you are looking for the perfect gift for your loved ones why not give them the gift of clearer vision with Zenni Optical eyeglasses.

Alcatel OT 710D

A few Sundays ago, my boyfriend and I went to the mall to look for a new cell phone.  My old mobile phone needs replacement because I can barely read the words on screen.  The LCD of the phone got damaged when I accidentally spilled betadine solution on it.

The cell phone is my boyfriend’s late Christmas and early birthday gift for me.

I’m not really into fancy and high end phone.  As long as it can be used for text messages and call I am alright with it.  Plus some added features like:

1.  It should be dual sim because I just want to bring one cell phone for my Globe and Smart sim.

2.  MP3 feature because I like listening to songs while commuting.

3.  A phone with at least 1 megapixel camera so I could take pictures even if I don’t have my digital camera with me.

It wasn’t long and we were able to see the phone that I wanted at SM City Marikina.  It’s an Alcatel OT 710D.

It’s sleek and very light weight at only 105 grams.  It has MP3, 2.0 megapixel camera, dual sim, touch screen display with widgets you can customize, FM radio, a 3.5 megabyte internal memory and an additional card slot for micro SD memory up to 8 gigabyte.  And it is very affordable at only P2,499.

I have been using it for two weeks already and I am satisfied with the phone.

Nutritious Malunggay

Malunggay or moringa oelifera is one of the healthiest vegetables.  It is loaded with so much vitamins and minerals.  According to studies made, an ounce of malunggay has the same amount of vitamin C in seven oranges, gram for gram twice the amount of calcium in milk, four times the amount of vitamin A in carrot and three times the amount of potassium in banana.

Many lactating mothers drink boiled leaves of malunggay because of its high calcium content and for iron.

Studies also show that malunggay is good for fever, asthma and arthritis.

But many don’t like to eat vegetables, plus this particular vegetable is not really pleasant to taste for many people.  I for one dislike malunggay when I was younger, but I have grown to love malunggay.

One of the things that my Father does to make my siblings and I J eat malunggay is placed it on our favorite Tinola like the dish below or make ginataang malunggay with shrimps.

Knowing how healthy malunggay is, one should have this vegetable as a regular viand.  Not only is it healthy but it is also inexpensive.  Our supply of malunggay comes from the tree on my grandfather’s front lawn.

Daily Gospel 2012

One of the first things I do upon waking up is reading the bible.

This is the bible guide I used everyday.

It contains the readings, psalms and gospel for the day.  It also includes a short reflection about the gospel that helps me reflect on what I have read.

Reading the bible early in the morning is a great way to start the day.  It gives me the encouragement I need to face whatever it is the day may bring.

On Panhead and Photography

Sunday, January 15, 2012 · 0 comments

My boyfriend and I went on a joyride yesterday.  We went to different places in the metro and at a nearby province.  We passed by Chinatown in Binondo, Roxas Boulevard, and the coastal towns of Cavite.  There were many beautiful and historic structures that we saw along the way like the Binondo Church, Jones’ Bridge, the National Museum, the Manila Bay and so much more.  I really regret that I did not bring with me my camera.  We could have gotten so many wonderful pictures had I bought it with me.

There are really a lot of scenic spots in the country and seeing them makes me want to take photography classes.  I want to be able to capture their beauty in pictures.  I must admit that what I have right now is just a point and shoot digital camera.  I need to really invest in a good dslr.  Getting started in this hobby also requires me to also get a tripod too but I do not know which is better to get a panhead or a ball head?

I was at the indurogear.com website and I have seen several tripods that I want to get.  The products they feature at that site are durable, of good quality and are truly must haves for both amateur and professional photographers. This is the best site to see to get the best photography equipment.

I can’t wait to start on this hobby.

Extra Snooze Time

I woke up at 4:30 am on a Sunday morning.  It is not unusual for me because that’s the time I usually wake up every day.

But last Sunday I really feel so sleepy that I was torn between sleeping more and the tasks I have to accomplish.  A debate ensued on my mind.

Waking up early would mean I can finish my pending tasks, but I have been cutting down on my sleeping hours the previous days just to be able to keep up with my tasks.

In the end I decided that tasks are endless, once you started one chore, another one needs to be done again; so sleeping it is that I chose.  It was a rare occasion for me to get extra sleep on a weekend.

Sleeping is as important as finishing household chores.  A well rested person is able to accomplish more because the body has more energy.

Overhaul

Our Catholic Community – The Light of Jesus, started a new series this month, and it is on the topic “Overhaul.”

It is all about being overhauled by the Chief Mechanic himself – Jesus Christ.  It is a fitting series for the start of the New Year!  It is all about developing good habits that will enrich our lives to help us turn from bad to good or better yet from good to great individuals.

So if you want to see transformations happen to you this year, you are welcome to attend our services at different venues at different schedules.   Our mass, preaching and worship services are called the Feasts.  There are many feasts around Metro Manila and even in nearby provinces so dial 735-9999 to know the feast nearest you.  The feasts are the happiest places on Earth.  So come and join us.
